Great local pub on the banks of the river Usk. Serving great beers and ciders. Warm friendly welcome from staff and customers. Does lovely food and Sunday lunches
Stopped for a pint while walking the dog along the river , very dog friendly and a nice pint of Guinness , will be even better when they finish the foot bridge over the river.
Friendly pub right next to the old bridge in Abervagenny. Beer garden, good selection of draught beers, lager and cider.
What an excellent pub run by a warm and inviting couple. Set right on the river, on a sunny day it's great to sit in the beer garden and watch the world go by. Pub grub on the weekends at a reasonable price. Gorgeous fire inside to keep you toasty in the winter. Friendly locals. Great atmosphere.
Very nice place atmosphere good drinks recently priced the only thing is there is no food no restaurant which is a shame as it did say restaurant on the side of the building
Had a nice evening there with friends. They had a live band there .
Great pub in a beautiful location by the river. Staff are lovely and welcoming. Had a few pints of Butty Bach which was delicious. Great place to spend a summer afternoon in the garden. Love it.
Great local pub. Good ales; three hand pulls at time of post. Friendly, attentive staff, and friendly, chatty locals. No pub I've been to in this town to compare.
Nice and friendly place to go. Went there several times for a very well deserved drink after a long walk. Also dog friendly. Staff very friendly
We were walking from Clydach to Abergavenny and we decided to stop here for a rest. Beautiful pub, beautiful drinks and very friendly staff! If we ever decided to do that walk again we will definitely be stopping here!
Lovely place, Very friendly. Room was noisy of the night time with the traffic and I know we went within a heat wave but there was no fans to be offered so we had to have the windows open. Was not clearly understood about what to do with the keys the next morning so ended up posting them through a l
Very good local real ale on here (how about a beer menu board outside? I walked passed the place a couple of times). Will's dad was behind the bar, being very helpful and courteous. Probably can be trusted again 😊
Called by for a Sunday roast, little disappointed that there was no roast dinners as they come highly recommended. Settled for the chicken and bacon pie and veggie pie for my wife. Couldn’t fault it, good portion, piping hot and well priced. Made most welcome and service was second to none. Wil and
What a great pub. Popped in for a quick swig after an exhausting Xmas shopping session in Waitrose. Landlord most welcoming and accommodating. Cracking pint of Stowford Press and a Tankers G&T for £11.50. Clean, warm, great Christmas atmosphere, what more do you want. Get in there, first pub weve be
Wonderful little pub by the river. Visited a few times over the weekend I was staying locally. Due to covid restrictions the indoor area of the pub was closed and it was garden only. Their process through the covid restrictions are excellent and seamless. You are met at the gate, your details are ta
Nice outdoor area with friendly staff. I’ll chuck this up to 5 stars once they re-open their kitchen x
Good location and the one of the rooms has a superb river view. Beer and wine is good however the food is average and it seems there are regular mistakes so double check at the bar to ensure they have not messed up / misheard.
Telephoned on the off chance that they could do a take away Sunday lunch as I was traveling back from a trade fair at the NEC and was having visitors as soon as I got home and didn't feel like cooking. I collected the meals that was plated up with extra veg, cauliflower cheese and loads of gravy. Th
