Nice filmhouse showing a wide variety of interesting films. Some screens are smaller than you might expect if you've only been to the likes of Cineworld or Vue, but it's a nice vibe. The chairs are very comfy and it's always clean. The staff have all been super friendly and the refreshments are reasonably priced. Being an independent cinema as opposed to a chain, there's a unique, almost retro feeling to the place. The ads that play before the movie don't always seem particularly relevant to the audience, but they don't play for longer than any other cinema.

Attended Belmont Filmhouse this afternoon to see ‘My Old School’. Intimate wee cinema, staff were all friendly and I was impressed with the viewing experience. The film was being shown on Screen 1 - sizeable screen/room, comfortable seats and the picture/sound quality was great. Bought some drinks/snacks from the Café which were reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again soon!

One of my favourite places to visit in Aberdeen. I love the vibe and happy to be back post covid. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the popcorn and other food and drinks are lovely.

Went to see a great film with my daughter which we both enjoyed. We were disappointed though at the snacks on offer at the cinema. We had coffee and would have loved a biscuit with it but they had none. Someone needs to be checking the orders I think!!

You can watch films here you won't catch anywhere else in Aberdeen, and without anyone browsing their phone on full brightness either. There really is a great variety of media to catch here. But if it weren't for that aspect it would be difficult to speak positively. The image quality is inescapably poor. Scanlines or interlacing is clearly visible at a distance which is a downgrade from even a budget TV for the home. Not a very bright image either, which isn't helped by the fact each room is left bright enough to read a book if you tried. The sound is nothing to write home about. I really feel Belmont Filmhouse should look at dimming their lights further if legally possible (and if it isn't, how can major chains use darker rooms?), and look at upgrading the projectors, as they are very visibly dated—at least in screen 3.

Lovely little film house. We didn't chose the right film for us but that was our problem, not the cinema's. They have a choice of good quality films, a mixture of popular and art/ International.

We always enjoy our time when we visit the Belmont Filmhouse cinema in Aberdeen. It's a smaller cinema than your Cineworlds and as such you have more room and feel less cramped. I couldn't tell you the name of the film I saw recently but I fell asleep as it was so warm and i'd just had lunch and like a happy baby I drifted off to sleep for most of the film. I can confirm the Belmont Filmhouse is a comfortable cinema to sleep in!

Very good prices to watch the latest films as well as classics and indies. There's a decent student discount, a bar downstairs, and a café on the ground floor. The main screen itself is a good size with comfortable seating. It was very clean and the staff were super friendly.

Great cinema, limited film choice compared to mega multiplexes with a bigger selection of alternative, foreign language films. This also reflects in the other patrons, more mature, less groups of kids. The screens aren't quite as big as others but neither are the rooms so it's all relative. Excellent staff service, great bar with good selection of different drinks. Nice you can take bar drinks into the screening.

This is an independent cinema house that is full of charm and tradition. Always showing films from years ago and also the latest blockbusters too. Great for films you may have missed on the big screen first time around. It has a downstairs bar and a small shop for your treats. Seats are very comfortable. Great place.

Awesome cinema! Shows the films that you won't find at your mainstream places, and are usually the best. The raw, unedited, passionate sort made by independent film makers that don't have the artistic constraints of Hollywood. Will pay slightly more (discounts available including membership), but it's a charity and the films are worth it.

My favourite cinema in Aberdeen - the atmosphere is always really chill and you get a decent ticket price. I particularly like how they show a wide selection of film, not just blockbusters (although I do like those too). The seats are also super-duper comfortable and their little information booklets are always a source of new watching material :)

We love this cinema! It actually has something of a soul, unlike the massive multiplexes in retail parks that remove your desire to live . And the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They show old classic films as well as independent and also documentaries. The Take One film festival that happened there was great. Recommended!

We put on a musical event here in the downstairs bar area. Everything went smoothly thanks largely to the staff who couldn't have been kinder and more helpful. There is a very relaxed vibe in the whole place which makes it a pleasure working there.

This place is lovely. So much better than the big cinemas, and they show more interesting films, and not just daft action movies. It has a peaceful atmosphere about it, and no screaming kids!! The building is nice inside and immaculately clean, and clean, tidy loos. It's such a shame the bar closed down. It was the only peaceful and tranquil place on Belmont street! Why do they have to spoil things?

Great little cinema on Belmont Street that's a refreshing change to faceless chain cinemas. It's got a spacious and nice cafe downstairs serving alcoholic drinks, tea and coffee and hot food, alongside cakes and cookies. The screening rooms are spacious and clean (if a little too cold from air-conditioning) and they have a wide selection of films showing.

The best cinema in Aberdeen. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Money actually goes back into the cinema and it's not just a corporate chain. AMAZING staff as well. Always a pleasure to go.
