What an amazing place! Never in my life have I tried deep-fried haggis but I must say I really did enjoy it. Staff were friendly and got our order correct and brought our food in very little time. Interior was very nice with old pictures of Aberdeen hung up to be looked at while waiting for the lovely meal. Toilets were clean and hygienic as well. The only problem would be the parking. From what I could see there weren't all that many parking spots so when this place is full one might have to park somewhere off the premises. Other than that would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try typical Scottish dishes such as haggis or dare to tackle the Ashvale Whale! Will come here again hoping that next time I will eat that one pound monster!

Great fish and chip! Ordered the 2-course lunch sets and love them all, especially for the starters haggis bon bons and smoked chowder. The fish and chip is top notch. The staff are friendly and polite as well. Will definitely come back when visiting Aberdeen.

Hmmm, fish and chips (almost) perfection. A bit of a legend in Aberdeen, best known for it's famous fish and chips. Really, when something is marketed that hard there's really no excuse to order anything else other than their speciality. So is the fish and chips the stuff of legend? Kind of. I mean, it's not bad (and certainly a cut above a normal chipper) but on the other hand it's not truly memorable either. I think the best way of describing it is 'reliably above average' as we have seen consistent high quality food in all the times we have visited. Helpings are generous. The fish and chips comes with a choice of peas (mushy or normal) or baked beans. On the table there's as much sauces and condiments as you could ever want. Oh and kids under 5 eat for free. Service is usually very fast although admittedly we tend to avoid super busy times. Given its legendary local status booking is recommended.

I have been eating here for about 30 years. Food is great and the consistency is outstanding. I occasionally have fish and chips in other places and then wish I had waited to go back to the Ashvale!!!

We all had a great meal as we always Do and we really Enjoy your Fish Restaurant but I personally think that £3.00 Is rather steep for cans of Juice n Fruit shoots for kids 🤔🤔👍👍

Haddock, skate and lemon sole Fish were good .. chips was too thick and not that great. Sticky toffee pudding and hot fudge sundae were divine ☺️

Had a lovely family meal here. Staff were great and very accommodating (especially with us calling up to say we'd be late due to a car breakdown). I would love to give 'The Whale' a go next time.

Very good haddock and decent chips. The deep fried haggis is also quite tasty. Polite but somewhat curt service.

Great time at the Ashavle, our large party of 25 people went on a Sunday, we booked in advance to make sure we were able to get a space. The food was delicious and very filling, it did take about 45 minutes to get our food, but that's understandable with such a large group. The atmosphere was great and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves that night. I definitely will be returning again at some point in the future

This is truly the best place to have fish and chips possibly in UK ... I have had a lot of fish and chips all over UK and none were close to what you get in Ashvale ! To top up the good tasty food, you will be welcomed with a very friendly and kind staff into a really nice spacious environment & atmosphere... What I loved the most is the passion for fishing and marine life in this place, all over the walls you can see pictures of the history of fishing and fishing boats ... I would visit this place whenever I visit Aberdeen from now on. By the way, they are plenty of car park available to customers.

We were looking for gluten-free options, and the Ashvale didn't disappoint. Fresh fish and very crunchy batter.
