Cos I could be a cheating rat
Had a lovely weekend stay there. Stayed in a family room with my boyfriend and daughter. Had everything we needed. Great continental breakfast on both mornings. Staff were lovely and friendly. Our room was freshened up on the Saturday which was a lovely surprise.
Would stay there again for sure.
We stayed at the Northern Hotel in Aberdeen in April 2022. We chose the hotel because it was dog friendly and wow! they really lived up to that. Our dog got a huge welcome and we were even allowed to take her down to breakfast. The staff were all incredibly friendly.
The hotel is an amazing Art Deco building and worth visiting just to see the round bar!
The only slight downside was not very hot showers but the rooms were lovely and warm and our stay was also good value for money.
I had a good stay. Stayed here with my husband for three nights. The room was usually kept warm and comfortable. The tv works, unlike it was in the hotel I previously stayed. The light switched was conveniently located above the bed as well as by the door. The breakfast was very enjoyable, I always ate to my fill and i looked forward to it all every morning. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is situated in a good location too, has a bus stop right in front, it’s close to university of Aberdeen, McDonald’s, Dominos, Sainsbury’s, not too far from city centre. I recommend and I look forward to staying again. The only issue i had was with the hot water in the bathroom, it wasn’t usually very hot. I wished it was. But it was warm and wasn’t bad to use.

Stayed for a few nights end of April. Very comfortable and staff were extremely friendly! Room was cosy and had everything we could need. The breakfast, which was included in the very reasonable price, had plenty of options including fresh fruit and yoghurts to go alongside the usual bready and other continental brekky foods. Dog friendly. The location was convenient enough as we were driving and near to the things we needed, there was ample free parking nearby. My only complaint is that whilst I'm not a light sleeper the hotel is on a reasonably heavily used road, including by trucks and buses and even though they've added extra glazing to the original art decor windows, there's still a fair bit of road noise. But honestly just bring ear plugs.
Stayed at the northern over Christmas period whilst visiting family. Though the rooms are dated, the hotel is great and not far from the city centre, the staff are really friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast between 7-9am is a nice touch and I will definitely recommend and stay again.
We had our Wedding Reception at the Northern Hotel, it was great, Clare was really helpful and the decorations on the tables etc were amazing.
the food that we had during the reception was lovely and there were plenty of staff at the bar so you weren't waiting too long to be served. our room was lovely and spotless, had a brilliant sleep! and the breakfast the next day was just what we needed.
cannot recommend enough.
all in all a great day and looking forward to coming back.
Here for a friend's evening wedding reception, first time we were here. Lovely art deco decor. The bar in the ballroom was only taking cash so unable to use card. Had to go downstairs to get cashback which was a slight inconvenience! Price of drinks however were reasonable and staff were helpful. Husband did not think his draft pint was the best he'd ever had feeling it was slightly flat.
I stayed two nights in a room on the third floor facing the street. The room was clean and comfortable and I slept very well. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. They have a restaurant and a bar. The food is pretty good, I had the breakfast buffet and a dinner (haddock with chips).
When I am back in Aberdeen, I'll stay at the Northern Hotel again.

We had our staff lunch Xmas meal here today and I just wanted to say that the food was gorgeous. I especially enjoyed the broccoli tart and the white chocolate cheesecake was the best cheesecake I've ever had! The staff were friendly and polite and the overall service was great :)

Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is good. Room is basic and comfortable. Main road outside is pretty noisy, so bring ear plugs! Bathroom is nice and adequate. 30s style of architecture is fab, including the lift!
The staff is exceptional! My waitress was the sweetest, which makes a great difference. The food was also great, had breaded fish and chips and an exquisite hot chocolate. What they could improve on is the serving of the sauces.
Stayed it for one night, the room was very clean and the bathrooms were of great standard. Breakfast was served quick in the morning as well. I would of given this a 5 star but the room I was in (301) was cold and the heating took a long time even on full to circulate around the room.
My wife, daughter and I stayed for one night in a family suite - two bedrooms plus ensuite. We were given a friendly welcome, slept well in comfortable beds and enjoyed a good breakfast in the morning. We particularly enjoyed the art deco architecture and the way the hotel's decor and furniture have been designed in perfect sympathy with the building's extraordinary character. Highly recommended.
Staff is out of the world!! Thank you CLARE! Rooms are lovely and clean. And the most fun is a local giving us her best lion king concert in the bar!!! (But she is one helluva DJ she chose the best songs all night)
