Cool buzzy atmosphere with reasonably priced but slightly adventurous food. Great selection of gin as well. Staff were very friendly and coped with a diner with a dairy allergy with ease. Even went as far as adapting dishes and swapping ingredients. Very tasty small plates including the pigeon not to be !missed. Staples like the fish and chips were also done really well.

The food was reasonably nice; however the portion sizes weren't great. Similarly, the beers are good but expensive. If you sit outside, you may have to deal with the local seagulls (which had a "surprise" for the table next to us).

Good little place for brunch. Skillet hash and eggs is my favourite. Felt like we had to wait quite long at times to order and wait for drinks. Could of done with an extra server.

First visit to Rye and Soda for food and it lived up to the expectations. They take some chances with their menu but it works, the mixture of flavours all contribute well and it will leave you satisfied. Starter for me was some Handburger spring rolls, my partner had a bowl of fresh mussels. Main for us both was bbq pork belly or a bed of sweet potato mash and cream corn with some beetroot. Tasty and rich with flavour. But it is Rye and Soda so i would remise to not mention the cocktails, explore and enjoy. Gluten free savvy here as well.

Love this place. Best place to sit on the patio and drink on one of the rare sunny days in Aberdeen. Tuesdays are half price corkage fees, which is the optimal time to go :)

The Rye & Soda is a Restaurant cum bar located within the Academy in the heart of Aberdeen. It's mainly a Luncheonette in my opinion although the eating side of the place does go on through the evening. It has an excellent outdoor seating area in the courtyard although it does compete with other bars here, notably Revolucion De Cuba.

Amazing range of gin on offer. The staff are welcoming and really knowledgeable on their drinks and are more than happy to recommend drinks to try. Food here is also delicious.

Great selection of gins, the bar staff really know their stuff. Brunch is also very good, but stay away from the Sunday roast...over cooked beef is never great!
