Amazing place!! The staff are so friendly and attentive - nothing is too much trouble. And the food...I cant speak highly enough about it! Tasty, lots of choice, really well priced. I'm vegan and this is one of my favourite places to go, but it caters for everyone. Go try yourselves - you won't be disappointed!!!

We were really surprised to find a Thai restaurant in the far reaches of Scotland.
We wetted our appetites with the complementary prawn chips. My Mom used to make these for us when we were kids. They are still delicious. For dinner we ordered the coconut rice, green veggie curry, and Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was the best item we ate. I was actually pretty impressed with the food. The curry we ordered tasted great, I only wish the veggies were more authentic. The servers were pleasant and our food came out really fast even though the restaurant was full.
My only suggestion is that the restaurant and especially the bar needs a bit of a clearing out /facelift.
While we were on our UK road trip, we suddenly craving Thai food. Bahn Thai was just a few blocks away from where we were staying so we decided to walk there and try it out. Boy we glad we stopped by, not even once but two dinners in the row.
My wife is Thai and she ordered the food in Thai so we got the Thai taste :)
The service was excellent and everyone was nice there. Even my daughter got some desert!
We ordered pad thai, chicken sate (for our daughter), moo ma now (pork with lime), moo yang (grilled pork) with sticky rice, yum won sen and fried rice. The ultimate comfort food!
Will be back again when we do our road trip around UK next time (next year?!).
Found this place on qype and decided to try it out...
Walking up the stairs, it seemed a bit intriguing...I didn't know if I was walking up to someone's house or a restaurant (kidding, but it was an unusual entrance). Once upstairs, I was pleasantly surprised. The decor is quite simple. The service was good (American good) and the food was delicious! I enjoyed that the food actually had spice to it...knock off restaurants usually don't do good with spice. This was no knock off restaurant. All the food was wonderful and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some Thai food.

Heard from this place from a fiend and have to say I had never noticed it before, you may be the same, it is upstairs on Rose Street with just a front door on the street. When you do find it you will enjoy it!
You can have take away or sit in for food and either is great. The food is very authentic thai food which is great, if you have enjoyed Thai food before you are bound to love it here!
The green curry is superb and they serve wine but the Thai beers are great with the hot and spicy food!
It can be difficult to spot as it is upstairs and there is not a private car park but you will find parking on the streets, I am also unsure how it would work with a wheelchair or buggy but like I said they do take out.

A hidden gem in Aberdeen.
I visited for lunch on Saturday and was upset to see how quiet it was. It’s so important to support local businesses. Bhan Thai offers fantastic authentic Thai food in the centre of Aberdeen. I was given a complimentary basket of prawn crackers to start whilst scanning the menu. I ordered Tom Yum soup which arrived at the table promptly. It was packed with flavour and there was plenty of chicken! I also had the the Chicken with Cashew Nuts. This dish was served with rice. The chicken was coated in a light batter which was lovely and crispy. The portion was a decent size and the rice came at no extra cost. The sauce was mild but tangy. Everything was so tasty. I was so full I struggled to finish it all, which is a really good sign. I couldn’t reccomend Bhan Thai enough. I will return soon for dinner. I want to try the Thai papaya salad. Thank you to the server who was really lovely and made the meal enjoyable!
Post gym, this place had good food, and service was fantastic as we were offered recommendations on what would go well with the dishes we ordered, so we were not completely persuaded by hunger. Very personal touch with their inquisitive nature and wanting to know their patrons, they offered little insights into what they knew about our culture which built rapport and led to humorous conversations. The unassuming entrance led to a very calming and spiritual atmosphere which accentuated this experience.
Always an excellent eating experience here, food is generously portioned, fresh, delicious and won't break the bank.
Service is always excellent and the owner is always so friendly and welcoming.

Honestly it’s one of the most refreshing dining experiences I’ve had in the last couple years, superb food, great setting, friendly and witty staff, sensibly priced, just book a table, you won’t be disappointed.
Amazing service and the food was just as equally as brilliant. One of the best places in Aberdeen for authentic Thai food and the owners are just a delight. They also do takeaway and if you want to visit at the weekend it’s worth booking as it gets busy very quickly. Fabulous dining experience.
A lovely Thai restaurant in the centre of Aberdeen. Good value for money and very friendly service. The food is always tasty. I’ve come here over 10 times and always impressed. My mum enjoyed it as well :)

Love it here! So atmospheric, without being over the top. Cozy space, but not too jammed in. Excellent, attentive service. Thai food is great, and authentic from what I've experienced.
The new owner has made this the best Thai in Aberdeen, not just the food but the experience also makes it so.
Food is fantastic, and the service/experience is even better. Very memorable night as staff were so friendly/polite and meal was great. You really get a family business feel when you are there and they really care about their customer.

I was ordering and picking up the food in the restaurant. I ordered papaya salad and green chicken curry with rice. Three boxes were handed out 10 minutes later. I went back to the hotel and opened the boxes. Surprise: Two Tofu curries and rice. Even if not ordered, the food was really nice! I hope that the dudes which ordered the tofu were not vegetarian, so they could enjoy the green chicken curry!

We use Bhan Thai often for takeaway but 12 of us had a sit down meal on the weekend and the food was even better. Great service and such lovely staff. Well worth a visit.
