Another stunning meal last night, out to celebrate my partners birthday - the beef tendon snack was an absolute belter and a classic Moonfish dish - the chefs never fail to take flavour to the next level! I had the Seabass cooked perfectly with smokey notes throughout bringing all the ingredients together in harmony - sublime. The beef main was big on meaty flavour and how the mushroom accompaniments were married in was just excellent. My other half sung the praises of the hake and the duck but declared the passion fruit, liquorice and coconut dessert the star of the show - he was blown away. Great service and a fab night - thank you! Xx

Simply outstanding! A very clever tasting menu in collaboration with Porter's Gin. We weren't told what the eight courses were until after we had eaten each dish, which were designed to decieve. Never trust what your eyes are telling you! A great and memorable night out and some of the best food I have ever tasted! Highly recommended.

We booked a table to celebrate our son's graduation and it was a fitting finale to a great day. My risotto with peach and hazelnuts was unusual and portion size just right for a starter, lovely flavours. The scallop dish also rated highly by my chef husband. A rare treat to have halibut was not to be missed and it was beautifully cooked. Good friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

An amazing culinary experience at the Chef's tasting menu with Porters Gin on Saturday. Will definitely attend another and I'd recommend it to everyone. Lunch, dinner or a tasting menu this is my favourite restaurant in Aberdeen.

Lovely little 12 table restaurant hidden in Aberdeen! A wonderful combination of classic French/British and other world flavours beautifully presented in a warm welcoming atmosphere! Would recommend for anything from a casual pretheatre to a special night with loved ones!

Deserves 6*. Superb! Stopped here at last minute on midweek before catching sleeper to London and couldn’t have been more pleased with choice. Really thoughtful menu, every course was superb. salmon rilletes, carpaccio beetroot, halibut, hake, pistachio tres leches, salty chocolate mouse. Great wine selection including some interesting desert wines. Excellent and very friendly service, lovely little place. Much better than many more expensive places.

Such a friendly welcome and despite having no reservation and it was clearly very busy, they managed to squeeze us in for the hour we needed to enjoy what I have to say was one of the nicest plates of food. I had the hake. Every mouthful was delicious. My friend had the halibut which she also really enjoyed. She ordered a dessert which she loved as much as the excellent first course. The service was superb and the decor and ambience here was very good. We'd been recommended to come here by an extremely informative lady working at the maritime museum, who clearly knew what she was talking about!

Hidden gem off the beaten track which we knew about but never got around to going. We made a reservation mid week (Wed) for lunch, which wasn't a busy time when we arrived. Simple and very nice decor with tables set out for around 34 people. We opted to share the small plate of Grilled Flatbread Mussels , Wild Garlic Butter and our large plates were Hake Motoyaki, Aubergine, Miso Glaze, Coriander & Roasted Cod, Jersey Royals, Grilled Onions, Beurre Blanc with no dessert on this occasion. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. I highly recommend this wee gem and hopefully return to sample the food in a dinner setting on our next visit. Thank you!

Delightful lunch here at Moonfish. For many years this was a regular lunchtime spot when I worked in Aberdeen Town Centre and I missed it. The food is just as good, and the menu is as interesting as ever. The staff are great, easily and enthusiastically answer questions about the food and take an interest in what we think. This is a small busy place and making a reservation is recommended, the lunchtime helpings are just right for a midday meal. We enjoyed being here, but be aware it's a busy place which can be noisy. Also the booking site give very strict times for occupation of the table. I think we had 1 hour 45 minutes for a table of two - which is more than adequate. No idea if they allow longer in the evenings. Thanks to everyone at Moonfish, and a special thanks to the chef for creating such a great menu!

I’ve been looking forward to returning to Aberdeen just to eat at Moonfish having read Jay Rayner’s review in the Observer. Great service in a characterful dining room complemented the excellent food and wine. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

Fantastic as usual and one of the only places in Aberdeen to do something original with food, but 2 1/2 hours for amuse-bouche and 3 courses is perhaps stretching things a bit (especially when the normal maximum allocated time is 1h45min - then you should be able to let people have their meal in that time span). Service impeccable.

My absolute favourite around here ! Place is lovely, service is perfect, warm, efficient without being pushy. Plates look amazing and this is nothing compared to what’s on them : food is fresh, perfectly prepared (fish among all), very nicely seasoned with a twist and adventurous touch. If I lived in Aberdeen, this would be my number one choice ❤️

This is a rare gem in a small town. Flavoursome food and friendly staff. Well deserved the Michelin star every year.
