We visited the Marcliffe for my Birthday meal last week and the whole experience from start to finish was faultless. We were greeted by friendly staff and our server come somelier was first class, recommending the most beautiful white wine to go with our mouth watering chateaubriand which just melted in the mouth.
A lovely touch was the happy birthday truffles waiting for me in the drawing room when we had coffee after the meal.
I can not recommend enough - you get what you pay for in a first class establishment that is the Marcliffe!
Lovely stay staff friendly and very professional. Our room was spotless and large. The dinner was fantastic starters -scallops and I had soup, mains were surf turf which my husband said was the best he has ever tasted, I had lemon sole, the portions were substantial so much so there was no room for pudding The breakfast was amazing . I had fresh fruit then kedgeree my husband had full cooked I could not fault a thing. Would definitely recommend and will visit again without hesitation.
Our wedding at the Marcliffe was a fantastic day from start to finish! Staff were all great and really friendly and Lee was a superstar the whole day. Food was amazing, service top notch and the special touches in our room were lovely!
We were lucky enough to get sunshine also which made for some cracking photos outside too! Would recommend to anyone considering it as a venue!

My Husband and I got married here on the 18th of March. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we both knew the Marcliffe wouldn't be beaten by any other hotel!
Throughout the whole planning process the staff, particularly Marion, Gaynor and Doreen, were very patient and extremely helpful with any questions, ideas and panics I was having. A lot of our family and friends were staying at the hotel and the attentiveness to each and every single one was unquestionably good. Every moment before and on the day of the Wedding the staff were on hand to direct suppliers, provide us with anything we needed but most of all they kept checking to see I was calm and collected!
Both the food and drink at the hotel was delicious. The meal was cooked to perfection and everyone couldn't and still haven't stopped talking about just how good it was.
I think the hotel is one of the only remaining places where they take absolute pride and pleasure in providing a luxury service to ALL guests, even fury ones!, and are not micro managed by a big national name!
Their subtle touches in the room and notes of thought made the experience of all the guests that little bit better and one we certainly won't forget.
For anyone who would like to receive a very warm Welcome, experience great food and drink and relax in a calm and chilled atmosphere or party the night away in style then I would absolutely recommend that the Marcliffe be your choice!
Lunch was amazing and the staff were so professional and efficient. During the afternoon , tea was served in the lounge. After a very busy few days we were very tired waiting to go to the airport and it was the perfect place to relax without being bothered but waited on and our every need catered for. Excellent.
I had my 1st visit today to the Marcliffe today for lunch as a treat from my mum before the arrival of my first baby, it was amazing! Staff and food was beautiful! Mr Spence himself took us to our table, served our food and we had a little chat and he wished me all the best when baby comes! I can’t wait to come back hopefully one day x
If you want that extra special feeling.....book the Marcliffe. The time and care taken by the staff to make you feel welcome is just wonderful. The food and service is absolutely first class. I would highly recommend it. Very cosy place to go, especially in the winter months.
The service is fabulous and the little details that they remembered was exceptional - I love this place and would always recommend - if you want to be treated special - this is the place to go 💕💕💕
It is the most wonderful place to stay at. Every member of staff are just marvellous. So helpful and they go out of their way to help. The food is absolutely mouth watering and again very good and not wee plates. You don't leave the dining room hungry. The bar is very relaxed and very well stocked and the barman is a treat.
Another lovely family lunch enjoyed by all ages. Great food and the staff were faultless. Has been so good over the years and still keeps it up.
We were married here 30th June 2007 and came back for our 10year anniversary for a nights stay. We were giving a warm welcome and a lovely anniversary card in our room. The food was amazing by far the best meal we have ever had!! The staff are so friendly and polite and do anything for you can't wait to stay again!
This is by far one of the nicest hotels and restaurants I have been in. Rooms were wonderful. The meal at the restaurant was beyond good. It was wonderful. The best meal I had in Scotland on a 13 day trip.
My husband and I stayed for the night 10/6/17 celebrating our anniversary. As we drove in, the grounds so peaceful and beautiful garden. The view from our room, looking down at the amazing colours of mature trees. Glancing to that while having my cup of tea warmed my heart and felt thankful. We received an excellent service from start to finish during our stay. Wide selection of wine to choose from, the food was excellent- compliments to the chef. Time and tine again we will return.
Great night had by all couldn't fault the place and the service was fantastic, atmosphere was electric, would recommend your next special occasion be held at the marcliffe you won't be disappointed.

Went to Marcliffe Thursday evening to celebrate my sister Eileen Baird’s graduation.. Bar staff, waiters, were so professional and the meal was absolutely fantastic!! Lovely homely atmosphere too my favorite hotel in Aberdeen . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfection!
We loved our stay! Our room was a great size, clean and plenty complimentary drinks. We had a meal in the evening which was absolutely delicious. Staff were very polite and helpful. We had a massage and facial at the spa also which was very relaxing. Beautiful place to stay.
