Great food and service, little cold inside though.
Road trip from the South West to Watford. Stopped here for a roast dinner, hadn't booked anything. Beef was a bit overdone but I think that was because it was the last of it. Everything else was tasty and good value. staff were very friendly
First time at The Compasses and it was a very pleasant experience. Definitely covid friendly place. We had our prebooked reservation for 17:45 and it was fairly busy, obviously a good thing as something must be nice right.

Very nice food.
I tried the sausage and onion baguette ( plus cheese which I requested ) as recommended by the member of staff who was working which was very tasty. The nachos were good too.
I highly recommend trying it
Stopped for dinner after visiting Harry Potter Studio Tour. We rang and checked if had a table and kindly held one for us. Nice selection on the menu and good prices. Big portions of food and was very tasty. Service was a little slow is only thing but they were really friendly. Will definitely stop

Really nice little pub that serves some really nice dishes accompanied by a great selection of drinks! The staff here are also very quick, friendly and efficient! They go over and under to ensure they deliver the best service. They definitely deserve 5 stars!

Went for a meal with my partner here on Thursday evening.
I had the Hunters chicken and she had the mushroom risotto, with a couple of sides. The food was very tasty and good value for money.

Quite often come for the Wednesday night quiz night which I love! I haven’t accessed the garden sea yet but would like to next time. I had a portion of chips last time I was in and I’m happy to say that at this pub you get a decent sized portion and they were fab!

First time with a roast dinner takeout and it was delicious. I asked for rare beef and it was cooked to perfection. Friendly service, ample portions, and decently priced too. We will definitely be ordering again!
Great local pub. Good food always, the Sunday roasts are amazing. Good covid restrictions in place, big new patio provides plenty of space under cover. The staff are always pleasant and efficient. Glad to call this my local.
We made a last minute booking as we were looking for covered outside dining. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was well presented and tasty. And I had an ale I hadn't heard of before which is a bonus.
Booked for 7 people. Not a problem. From booking through to finishing our meal, this was a fantastic find. The staff were lovely, service was quick and efficient and the food was delicious. It made a great start to our day out at the Harry Potter studio tour, which is a 5 minute drive away.
Came in this afternoon for a roast. Sat in the outdoor area as the bar was full today and we had our dog. It was warm enough with the heaters and was covered with a shelter. Roast was banging 👌 Best pub roast I've had anywhere in ages
